The CRM range of tobacco recovery machines has been in use, reclaiming tobacco from rejected cigarettes since 1986.
Over the decades, numerous CRM machines have been manufactured and installed worldwide, supporting cigarette manufacturers in countries such as Egypt, China, Serbia, Germany, and many more to minimise degradation and maximise profits.
The current CRM machinery range was first launched in 1986 under the TR name and was previously manufactured by NTM (Nottingham Tobacco Machinery) and Canal Engineering (Imperial Reclaim). In 2023, CANALNTM re-launched the design and manufacture of CRM tobacco reclamation machinery, including servicing existing machines and supplying spare parts.
An integral part of relaunching the CRM range of tobacco recovery machinery has been undertaking a series of Life Cycle Improvements aimed at modernising and improving our tobacco reclaiming solutions.
All of these upgrades are available on the CRM250, CRM500 and CRM1000 and provide benefits such as;
- Improved moisture and steam control to prevent excess wetting of the product.
- Structural material and design upgrades to maximise the asset lifecycle
- Sieving Conveyor design improvements to remove cross-contamination risks
- Software upgrades to improve overall process efficiencies
- Improved Filtration System through new filter unit designs and new filtration materials, which reduces dust build-up and emissions
- Further upgrades of software integration and processing are being launched later this year
Alongside the CRM range is our cost-effective and compact tobacco recovery machine, the ICON. The ICON is the ideal tobacco reclamation solution for low-volume cigarette manufacturers or those limited by space.
The ICON, initially developed by Canal Engineering in 2020, has also received a new and upgraded filtration system.
